Maria Armijo is an Associate in HTFL’s Miami, Florida office, where she focuses on complex family immigration matters and employment-based immigration petitions. She has extensive experience representing Clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, Immigration Court, Customs and Border Protection, and other government authorities.
Ms. Armijo’s experience includes the preparation of applications for EB1, EB2, H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1, P-1, E-2, TN, and R visas. She represents the unique immigration needs of business professionals, international athletes, and performers through the use of innovative strategies tailored to their specific goals.
Ms. Armijo was born in Nicaragua and raised in South Florida. Her upbringing in dynamic South Florida affords her the ability to understand Client’s needs with culturally rich and diverse backgrounds. Ms. Armijo is fluent in Spanish. She is a member of the Florida Bar and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Ms. Armijo earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University. She also earned a certificate in Latin American Studies.
Ms. Armijo earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2010. While in law school, she was member of the St. Thomas University International Moot Court and the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review. Ms. Armijo was awarded the Best Student Award for Advanced Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy. Ms. Armijo is a member of the Florida Bar and American Immigration Lawyers Association
